3 Love Lessons From The Laysan Albatross

Many have singled out the dove as a symbol of love because Greek mythology associated it with the goddess of love. However, many birds, including but not limited to the Laysan Albatross, understand and play the game of love far better than the dove. This article reveals some love lessons from the Laysan Albatross.

What is Laysan Albatross

Laysan Albatrosses are large white seabirds with vast wings, mainly found in the Northwestern Hawaiian Islands. They only breed when they are eight or nine by laying one egg in one year.

What’s truly remarkable about the Laysan Albatross is their unwavering commitment to their mate. Once they’ve found their partner, they remain faithful ’till death do us part’, regardless of any changes in appearance or behaviour.

Laysan Albatrosses solidify their love for their mate through ritual dancing once a year. If their mate dies, they mourn for two years before finding another love.

The Love Lessons

  • The Laysan Albatrosses serve as a powerful reminder of the importance of loyalty in our romantic relationships. Just as these birds reserve their love for their mate, we should be steadfast in our commitment to our partner and resist the allure of romantic entanglements with others.
  • Like the Laysan Albatross, we should love our spouse, regardless of physical or behavioural changes in our spouse.
  • Our love and relationship with our spouse should be permanent unless, of course, death separates us.

Romans 7:2, which states that only death can free a lady from the law of her husband, confirms that the love life of the Laysan Albatross is scriptural and worthy of emulation. Love is sweet but very bitter when betrayed. Nevertheless, practising love “till death do us part” will prevent love betrayal and enable us to enjoy love to the fullest.

This is really interesting and very well captures commitment in marriage 💑. If birds can do it as stated in the story, then humans can do better. We must be single eyed. Once we’re in we remain in……

Love is important, as such should be practice in marriage.

When a person got married, they have entered into an agreement to love each other. Nothing should be able to stop them from expressing love to their partner.

Love is good and should be till date do us part 👍

    I agree with you, sir

If birds can do that, how much more can we, as human beings? Wow!

“They remain faithful”. The writer’s words here resonate like a melody, striking a chord deep within. This is where he got me. Before I started reading the Love Lessons. This got me. “Faithful.” So many earthquakes in places where no one resides could happen right now. That’s how powerful this is for me. I worship the faithful man. Being faithful is one of the top qualities that draws me to a man.

I love this so much: “resist the allure of romantic entanglements with others.” Resisting the allure of romantic entanglements with others is not an act of suppression but a celebration of the profound bond we can nurture with a chosen partner. It’s about honouring the connection that has been forged and embracing the unique dance that is love. To be faithful is to choose and stick with each other, day after day.

Rather than ephemeral flings, let us be like those steadfast birds, soaring together through the skies of life, committed to our chosen spouses, embodying the love we seek, cultivating not just fidelity, but a deep, enduring devotion “till death do us part.” YES.

I am so touched by this message.

    LOYALTY ALL THE WAY.
