Supercharge Your Faith

When Jesus heard it, he marvelled, and said to them that followed, Verily I say unto you, I have not found so great faith, no, not in Israel.
And I say unto you, That many shall come from the east and west, and shall sit down with Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacob, in the Kingdom of Heaven.
But the children of the Kingdom shall be cast out into outer darkness: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.
And Jesus said unto the centurion, Go thy way; and as thou hast believed, so be it done unto thee. And his servant was healed in the selfsame hour. (Matthew 8:10-13 KJV)
Today’s scripture demonstrates that faith can help anyone receive any desire. A Roman senior military officer, a man of authority and power, pleaded with Jesus to heal his sick servant, who was paralysed and suffering terribly. Jesus agreed to follow him to his house, but he declined, saying he wasn’t worthy of receiving Jesus in his home. He asked Jesus to speak a word from where He was, and his servant would be healed.
Jesus marvelled at hearing such words from a Roman soldier regarded as an unbeliever. He said he hadn’t seen such faith in Israel. Eventually, Jesus spoke “a word”, and the servant was healed at that exact moment. Let’s examine the passage for a deeper understanding.

Understanding The Scripture
- The senior military officer leaving his house to seek help for his sick servant indicates that the servant must be diligent. Hence, it pays to be committed and diligent when serving God or people.
- Jesus said He hadn’t seen the kind of faith the Roman soldier exhibited in Israel. In other words, some unbelievers can have more faith than believers.
- Jesus asserted that people would come from afar and sit with Abraham in the Kingdom of Heaven while those who consider themselves as ‘children of the Kingdom’ but do not truly believe in God’s power would go to hell fire. This implies that a person can claim to be a committed church member and still miss Heaven if they lack true faith.
- In the end, Jesus healed the servant without asking for his name or following the Roman soldier to his house. That connotes that you don’t need to know a person’s name before praying for them, and you don’t have to be present with them before praying for them.
- Jesus healed the servant by saying to the Roman soldier, “Go thy way; and as thou hast believed, so be it done unto thee.” The servant was healed because his master believed. That implies that whatever we believe happens to us.
- Further, today’s Bible passage carries a profound implication — our belief can bring healing and blessings to those connected to us. Just as the Roman soldier’s belief brought healing to his servant, your belief can also bring healing and blessings to your children, spouse, relatives, friends, and servants. This power of belief puts you in control, empowering you to receive your desires and positively impact the lives of those around you.
As we conclude, I urge you to reflect on your beliefs. What do you think will happen today? What do you believe about your marriage, health, finances, and everything concerning you? Remember, your beliefs have the power to shape your reality. You are in control, and with the right beliefs, you are capable of experiencing the good things you desire. Think positively and believe in the goodness and mercy of God, and you will definitely experience good things.
